Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
- Your public identity is your @handle, plus a display name if you add one. We never show your email address or your real name.
- We don’t sell your information today, and we’ll tell you before that ever changes. If ArsenalBase runs ads, we’ll sell them directly, never through an ad network. We use product analytics to see how ArsenalBase is used and fix what’s broken, never for advertising, and we switch it off when your browser asks us not to track.
- We remove location and other metadata from every photo you upload.
- Private vaults, followers-only content, hidden firearms and “Only me” posts reach only you and the people you let in.
- Messages are shown only to the people in the conversation. They aren’t end-to-end encrypted, and we can review messages that are reported or flagged.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, or for it to be deleted, at any time.
About this policy
This policy covers arsenalbase.com and the services on it (“ArsenalBase”), operated by Unicorn Powered, LLC d/b/a ArsenalBase (“we,” “us”). It works alongside our Terms of Service. Questions go to privacy@arsenalbase.com.
Information you give us
- Account details. Your email address and how you sign in. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider; we never see your password. If you sign in with Google or X, that provider may share your name and profile photo with us. We keep the name on file but never display it.
- Confirmations. That you confirmed you’re 18 or older and accepted our terms.
- Profile. Your handle, display name, bio, a broad region if you pick one (one of a handful of US regions, never a city or address), profile photo, banner, the social accounts and website you link, and your privacy and display settings.
- Interests. The interests you choose during onboarding or in Settings. They show on your profile unless you turn them off, and we use them to tailor suggestions.
- Your Vault. Firearms (make, model, caliber, type, generation, nickname, description, the round count and month you got it that you enter when adding it, and who can see each one), mods (including optional notes, install date, price paid and serial number; the price and serial number are only ever shown to you), build history, photos and photo tags, and your ammo (each lot’s product, caliber, round counts, lot number, what you paid, when you bought it and where it’s kept, plus the alert and goal you set for each caliber), and your load book (the reloading recipes you save, with their components, charges, lengths, brass prep and notes, and the chrono results you log against them, each with the gun you name). All of your ammo and load book is only ever shown to you.
- Range sessions. Each session you log: its date, range name, time on the range, notes, drill and score, photos, and for each firearm the rounds fired, malfunctions, and the ammo lot you fired from (which draws that lot down). Also the maintenance intervals you set per firearm and the battery swaps you log.
- Activity. Posts, comments, replies, mentions, likes, reposts and quotes, follows and follow requests, and the posts and firearms you save, with the names of any collections you sort them into.
- Messages. What you send in Comms (messages, photos, reactions, replies, poll votes, and the posts and firearms you share), who you message, message requests, when you last read each conversation, the conversations you mute, and your messaging settings.
- Blocks and reports. The accounts you block and the reports you send: what each is about, the reason and any note you add. Only ArsenalBase staff see a report, we never tell the member who sent it, and deleting your account deletes the reports you sent.
- Phone uploads. When you send photos from your phone, a short-lived link session and a description of the device, like “iPhone · Safari.”
- Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the conversation. If you send a request through our Advertise or Product reviews forms, we keep what you enter (your name, email, company, any links and your message) so we can reply, and staff alone can see it.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies that keep you signed in (see Cookies below).
- Technical information our hosting, security and sign-in providers record, such as IP address, browser and device type, and request logs. It is used to run and protect ArsenalBase, including bot protection and checks for breached passwords.
- While Comms is open, your browser connects directly to our messaging provider, which records your IP address, browser and device type, and when you connect.
- When you search, your browser sends what you type to our search provider to look up brands, calibers, firearm models and mods, so it receives your search text, IP address and browser details. Searches for people and members’ firearms go through our servers.
- Product analytics. The pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, your IP address and the approximate location it suggests, and actions like adding a firearm, posting, commenting, following or saving. Once you sign in, this is linked to your account by an internal ID and your @handle.
- Session replays. Recordings of how pages are used (what’s on screen, scrolling and clicks) so we can find and fix problems. Everything you type is masked, and your messages, phone uploads, account settings, your Saved tab and collections, your Ammo and Range tabs, the range session logger, the results of ArsenalBase’s search (on Recon and in the search window), the @mention list, and the price and serial number on your mods are never recorded.
We don’t use advertising pixels, ad networks or cross-site trackers. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, analytics and session replays don’t load at all, and the actions you take aren’t recorded for analytics either.
Photos
Metadata removal
Every photo you upload is re-encoded on our servers, which removes EXIF data, GPS location and other embedded metadata from every copy anyone else can see. The original file sits in a private holding area only until processing finishes, then it is deleted. We keep a private, full-resolution copy of each photo so you can edit it again later. It is never shown publicly, and blurs you add are baked into the versions that are shown.
Serial number check
For photos shown on a firearm, a mod or your Vault banner, we send a stripped preview to an AI model from a third-party provider to look for visible serial numbers. We instruct the provider that the image may not be used to train models. We keep only where a possible serial number appeared and how confident the check was, never the characters it read. Feed posts, profile photos and photos sent in Comms aren’t checked.
Name check
When you pick a handle, a display name, a Comms group name or a name for a saved list, we check it against our word rules and send it to an AI model from a third-party provider, which says how likely it is to be offensive or to pose as a brand or as ArsenalBase. We instruct the provider that it may not be used to train models. A name it isn’t sure about may be reviewed by our staff.
Older photos
Photos added before our current upload system are being moved onto it. Until a photo is moved, it may still carry the metadata it was uploaded with.
Photos are delivered through signed links that expire.
Messages
- Who can read them. Messages, photos and polls in a conversation are shown only to the people in it. Messages are encrypted in transit but not end-to-end encrypted. Our messaging provider stores them, and ArsenalBase staff can access them when needed to review a report or a flag, to protect someone, or to meet a legal obligation.
- Who can message you. You choose People you follow (the default), Everyone or No one in Settings. With People you follow, messages from anyone else arrive as requests that you can accept or delete. No one stops new chats; the ones you already have continue.
- Read receipts and typing. People in a conversation can see when you’ve read it, unless you turn read receipts off in Comms, and when you’re typing. We don’t show when you’re online.
- Sale check. Message text is automatically checked for terms that suggest a sale. A match is hidden from the other people in the conversation behind a notice they can open, and is flagged for our review.
- Reports. You can report a message, a person or a group. Reports go to ArsenalBase for review, and we don’t tell anyone who reported them.
- Shared posts and firearms. When you share one, a person sees it only if they could already see it on ArsenalBase.
How we use information
We use information to:
- run ArsenalBase: your Vault, feeds, comments, likes, reposts, saves, notifications, follow requests, Comms and phone uploads;
- match your firearms to our catalog and show their specs, and suggest firearms and people based on your interests and your Vault;
- work out aggregate trends, like which firearms, brands and calibers are being added and liked most;
- understand how ArsenalBase is used and find and fix problems (product analytics and session replays);
- keep ArsenalBase safe: prevent abuse and spam, check messages for sales, review reports, enforce our terms and protect accounts;
- send account and security emails (delivered by our authentication provider), email you about your account — such as when our staff act on a name you picked (a handle, display name or firearm nickname) and reminders like maintenance coming due — and answer your messages; and
- meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Today we don’t sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to train AI models. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and tell you before it takes effect, and you’ll be able to opt out wherever the law gives you that right.
Who can see what
- Public by default. Your handle, display name, profile photo, banner, bio, region, the interests and linked accounts you choose to show, your public firearms and mods, and their photos can be seen by anyone, including people who aren’t signed in. Public Vault pages may appear in search results.
- Members only. Posts, reposts, comments, likes and build logs are visible only to signed-in members, and follow your Vault’s privacy settings. Only public posts and firearms from public Vaults can be reposted.
- Private vault. Your firearms, mods, photos, posts and build log are shown only to you and the followers you approve. Your profile header stays visible, and comments you leave on other members’ public content stay visible there.
- Followers only. A firearm, post or build-log entry set to Followers is shown only to you and the people who follow you, even if your Vault is public. It never appears in discovery lists, search or public pages, and it can’t be reposted or sent in a message.
- Hidden firearms and “Only me” posts are shown only to you.
- Search. Signed-in members can find you by your handle or display name, and find your public firearms. A private Vault shows up as its profile header only, followers-only and hidden firearms are never searchable, and people who have blocked each other don’t appear in each other’s results. Your interests aren’t searchable.
- Saves and collections are shown only to you; nobody is notified when you save something.
- Your ammo (counts, lots, what you paid, where it’s kept, and your load book of recipes and chrono results) is shown only to you.
- Range sessions are shown to the audience you pick for each one (public, followers or only you), and post to the feed only when you turn that on. The range name, the ammo and lot number fired, and each firearm’s lifetime round count are shared only when you switch them on. Your maintenance intervals, battery swaps, ammo on hand and what you paid are shown only to you. A model’s reliability figures (owners logging, rounds and malfunctions per 1,000) are counted from public sessions and never name who logged them.
- Messages are shown only to the people in the conversation (see Messages above).
- Blocked accounts. While they’re signed in, someone you block can’t message you one-to-one, add you to a group, or see your Vault, posts, comments or likes. In a group chat you’re both already in, you both stay: they can still see your messages there, and theirs are collapsed for you. Like anyone else, they can still see your public pages while signed out.
- Counts, loadout and interests. You can hide your follower counts, caliber loadout and interests from your profile.
- Never shown. Your email address, your real name, your ammo and load book, and the price and serial number on your mods.
We ask AI model-training crawlers, through our robots.txt, not to collect members’ Vault pages. Well-behaved crawlers honor that, but we can’t guarantee every crawler does. ArsenalBase staff access account information only as needed to run, support and protect the service.
How long we keep information
- Your account information and content, for as long as your account exists.
- Photo drafts you never post are removed after 7 days, unfinished uploads after 1 day, and phone upload sessions after 1 day.
- When you delete a post or photo, it is removed from ArsenalBase, and the photo files are deleted once nothing on ArsenalBase uses them.
- Product analytics are kept for [12 months], and session replays for [30 days].
- Messages stay until you delete them or the conversation is deleted. A message you delete is removed for everyone in the conversation, and its photos are deleted once nothing on ArsenalBase uses them.
- When you delete your account, we remove your profile, posts, comments, photos, saves, collections, ammo, load book, range sessions and messages from ArsenalBase and from our providers. Your one-to-one conversations are deleted for both people, and your messages are removed from group chats. Remaining records, such as database rows, background job logs and backups, are deleted within [30 days], except anything we must keep to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent abuse.
Your choices
- Edit or delete your profile details, firearms, mods, ammo lots, load book recipes and chrono results, range sessions, maintenance intervals, photos, posts and comments.
- Remove anything you’ve saved, and rename or delete your collections. Deleting a collection doesn’t remove what’s in it from your saves.
- Make your Vault private, choose who sees each firearm, post and build-log entry (everyone, your followers or only you), and choose what your profile shows, all from Settings and the item itself.
- Remove followers, decline follow requests and unfollow anyone.
- Choose who can message you, turn read receipts off, mute conversations, and block or report anyone.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser to switch off product analytics and session replays.
- Delete your account from Settings → Manage account where it’s available, or by emailing support@arsenalbase.com.
- Account and security emails, notices about your account and the reminders you get are part of running your account. We don’t send marketing email.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other US states, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you, and get a copy of it;
- correct information that’s wrong;
- delete your information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising (we don’t do either today);
- limit the use of sensitive information (we use it only to provide the service you asked for); and
- not be treated differently for using any of these rights.
To make a request, email privacy@arsenalbase.com from the address on your account. We’ll confirm it’s you, and we’ll respond within 45 days (or tell you if we need more time, as the law allows). An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; if you’re still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.
Information about the firearms you own can be sensitive. We use it only to run ArsenalBase the way you’ve asked and show it the way your settings say.
If you’re in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your information to provide the service you signed up for (contract), for our legitimate interests in running and protecting ArsenalBase, and to meet legal obligations. You also have the right to object, to restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, private storage that is reachable only through expiring signed links, limited staff access, and sign-in protections such as breached-password checks. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a vulnerability, please tell us at support@arsenalbase.com.
Children
ArsenalBase is only for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has an account, contact privacy@arsenalbase.com and we’ll delete it.
Where information is stored
ArsenalBase is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the US. Some providers may process information in other countries, with safeguards that the law requires.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is material, we’ll tell you before it takes effect, on the site or by email.
